Erin Enfys (they/them) is a Brighton-based singing teacher, facilitator and performer. They specialise in working with disabled and neurodivergent performers and voice users.
They are particularly interested in the fields of performance anxiety, hypermobility, chronic pain, tension and stress, and how these affect the spoken and sung voice.
Erin’s methodology is holistic, and values practical application over theory. Erin places great value on how neurodivergent brains learn and retain information, and is a visual/kinesthetic learner themself. In Erin’s lessons, you will not be expected to understand scientific terms. Erin works with the person as a whole, which can be slow, but results in meaningful and authentic work. Students report Erin’s teaching environment to be an easeful, joyful place where it is natural to experiment, be playful, and make mistakes.
Erin is committed to increasing representation and community engagement on stages, and this is reflected in their work as a performer, writer and director. Erin has had a varied career across musicals, theatre, and television, to include: Disabled + Disobedient (Brighton Dome) Galatea (Brighton Festival/Marlborough Productions/Wildworks), The Welsh Lxdies (Purple String Productions), Stellar Firma (Rusty Quill Productions), Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens dir. Tia Kofi (Winner: Drag Race UK vs the World), Sweeney Todd dir. Ken Caswell (Borough Theatre), and Cinderella (Walt Disney) dir. Kenneth Branagh.
